4-2-3-1 Arsenal’s predicted XI vs Olympiacos: Aubameyang to be left out again?

Arsenal have managed to gather a fair bit of momentum and after beating Spurs in the Premier League on Sunday, the Gunners are now undefeated in previous six matches.

Next up, they face Olympiacos in the Europa League Round of 16 and the London side take a healthy 3-1 lead into this second leg meaning if something doesn’t horribly go wrong then they should be heading to the next round.

Arsenal have won 8 of their last 9 matches in the Europa League and with the kind of firepower they have, Mikel Arteta will be looking to wrap up the tie as soon as possible so that he can give the fringe players a run-in.

The Gunners have only one injury concern but the manager will have one eye on the West Ham United game next weekend so we expect the Spanish boss to make a few changes to his starting line-up from the Spurs game.

Arsenal team news vs Olympiacos:
David Luiz and Gabriel played at the top of their game vs Spurs but the pair is likely to be rested in midweek meaning Pablo Mari and Rob Holding should come into the side.

Cedric Soares is also expected to make way for Bellerin at right-back while Kieran Tierney will operate on the left-hand side of defence.

Granit Xhaka has been playing constant football all throughout this season and the Swiss must be rested for this game which will bring Elneny into the first XI. While Thomas Partey is likely to start but if Arsenal can wrap up the match early then he too could be replaced by Dani Ceballos.

Odegaard will be rested on Thursday meaning Emile Smith Rowe will operate as the advanced midfielder. Bukayo Saka picked up an injury against Spurs and there’s a doubt over his participation vs Olympiacos. If he’s not fit then Nicolas Pepe will play as the right winger.

Aubameyang was left out of the Spurs game due to disciplinary reasons and there’s a big chance that he might not feature in the matchday squad on Thursday as well.

If Auba is left out then Willian will get the chance to play on the right flank as Lacazette takes the responsibility up front.

Arsenal’s predicted XI vs Olympiacos:
Predicted Line-up: Leno; Pablo Mari, Holding, Tierney, Hector Bellerin; Thomas, Elneny, Smith Rowe; Willian/Auba, Lacazette, Nicolas Pepe.
