3 Players IN, 3 Players OUT: 6 Deadline Transfers to happen today

Arsenal have done some impressive business in the transfer market, but Mikel Arteta is still trying to finance moves for his midfield targets before the transfer window shuts at 11pm.

Mikel Arteta says Arsenal are doing their best to sign players on deadline day.

Arsenal can be reasonably happy with their business in the transfer window, but have work to do to land their remaining targets on deadline day.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is desperate to strengthen his midfield options, with Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar having been on the radar throughout the summer.

Time is running out to sign those two top targets, however, and Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has been identified as an alternative.

Arsenal have already signed one ex-Chelsea player after Willian joined on a free transfer, while Arteta moved to address the club's long-standing defensive issues by landing Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille.

But the manager's best bit of business this summer has undoubtedly been convincing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to sign a new three-year seal at the Emirates.

Houssem Aouar (£54m)

Houssem Aouar starred in Lyon's run to the Champions League semi-finals, and has been targeted by Arteta to add a creative spark to Arsenal's engine room.

However, Lyon want £54million for the 22-year-old midfielder and have turned down at least one bid from the Gunners, leaving the north London club needing to sell players in order to finance a move.

With surplus stars like Guendouzi, Torreira and Kolasinac still not fully through the door heading into transfer deadline day, it looks like Arsenal may have to admit defeat in their bid to sign the France under-21 international.

Thomas Partey (£45m)

Partey has been near the top of Arsenal's shopping list all summer - but Atletico Madrid have insisted throughout that the midfielder's £45m release clause must be met.

As with Aouar, the Gunners have needed to sell players to raise the necessary funds, and time is running out.

Given Atletico's interest in Torreira, there was hope a swap could be agreed, but Los Rojiblancos were not interested in including Partey as part of the deal.

Jorginho (£50m)

However, the Italy international scored twice from the penalty spot in Chelsea's 4-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, underling his importance to Frank Lampard's team.

Chelsea are believed to value Jorginho at around £50m, and Arsenal's best hope is that the west London club decide they are willing to sell in order to finance a late move for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

Matteo Guendouzi (£30m)

Matteo Guendouzi has been frozen out at Arsenal since clashing with Brighton players during the Gunners' defeat back in June.

The 21-year-old midfielder has been linked with several clubs, but potential moves to Marseille, Villarreal and Roma have all fallen through.

However, Hertha Berlin have emerged as the latest club to take an interest in the French international - and Arsenal will hope a sale can be agreed as quickly as possible in the hope of raising funds for any last-minute business.

Sead Kolasinac (£10m)

Sead Kolasinac is in talks with Bayer Leverkusen over a £10m move after falling out of favour at the Emirates.

The left-back has slipped down the pecking order following last summer's signing of Kieran Tierney, while Bukayo Saka has also been played in the position.

If a deal can be completed, it would further supplement Arteta's transfer kitty as he looks to make last-ditch reinforcements.

Torreira is on his way to Atletico Madrid on loan, with Rojiblancos boss Diego Simeone a big admirer of the Uruguayan midfielder.

The 24-year-old has already completed a medical and agreeing personal terms at Atletico Madrid. However, the Spanish club must move Hector Herrera on before confirming the arrival of Torreira.

Serie A clubs Torino, Fiorentina and Roma also showed interest in Torreira this summer before Atletico made their move.
